There has been many rumours that Google are developing an operating system (OS) but Google themselves have always denied the rumours.

According to Ars Technica Google are targeting Netbooks, used for small tasks like browsing the internet, checking email and writing documents. If Google have created a quick booting OS then targeting a Netbook would be the best solution.
